Founder’s Story
In 10th grade, this girl in my chemistry class called me “skinny”. I laughed and said “Yeah”. Deep down, I was bothered. So, I started working out. Shockingly enough, going to the gym for 2 years didn’t do a thing. I was so frustrated, that I decided to count every macro. After doing the math and attempting to consume 700 calories above my maintenance caloric intake, I noticed crazy changes. I gained 10 lbs of lean muscle in my third year of lifting.
After realizing nutrition was the key to success in the gym, I researched and studied everything about it. However, cooking was so exhausting. I didn’t have the time. I looked for meal prep services, but couldn’t find anything affordable—every meal costs like fifteen dollars. HelloFresh wasn’t reasonable because you still had to cook your meals. Factor was too expensive.
So in 2021--during my sophomore year at BYU--I decided to start my own company, with the sole purpose of solving a problem. The past two years have been a hard journey, but I am so proud of the company I’ve built. With 8 people on the FOODX team and hundreds of people eating our food, I can firmly testify that we are the best meal prep service out there. I care more about you than how much money this business makes at the end of the day.
